Q: Hi, I’m struggling to find clothes that suit me, as my shape has changed recently due to medication. I am 5 feet 9 inches, a size 14 /16 large bust (forever increasing) hourglass shape.
I keep buying clothes that make me look square on the top half.
I am at home most of the time and tend to wear leggings/tights for comfort, therefore more casual than anything else. I would just like to feel nice for the period of time I am up in the day before I need to go back to sleep !
Is there anything that you could recommend ?
A: It can be so easy to slip into what’s comfortable and easy, especially when you have been struggling to find clothes to fit your body shape.
I would say if you are so used to wearing leggings you need to take a step out of your comfort zone.
I suggest some dark flared jeans – like these jeans from Laura Clement. The dark indigo has a slimming effect on your legs, as does the kicked out flare from the knee.
This white cotton and lace t-shirt would be great to team up with your jeans – it shows off your collar bones while still keeping your cleavage under wraps. The lace detailing above the bust draws the attention away.
To keep you warm while you are running errands you can through on this wrap around cardigan. The great thing about this is it’s light enough to wear around the house and it gives you that little extra bit of cover-up.
Lastly your shoes should make a statement if you want to feel a little more dressed up. These suede fringe boots with gold detailing are the perfect boots to team with this look. Low enough for you to wear all day but still extremely stylish.
