The fashion week that everybody’s been waiting for, Paris fashion week, kicked off yesterday with a day devoted to new and up-and-coming designers.
Running until October 1st – a full 9 days – it was no other than La Redoute’s Autumn Winter 14 guest designer Simon Porte Jaquemus who helped to bring the first day proceedings to a close, along with Shayne Oliver’s Hood by Air label and La Redoute’s Spring Summer 12 guest designer, Anthony Vaccarello.
Cedric Charlier, another recent La Redoute collaborator, who designed for our Spring Summer 14 collection shows his new ready-to-wear collection today. If you’re quick, we still have some of our Cedric Charlier pour La Redoute collection left on the website.
Charlier’s collection for La Redoute features all the hallmarks he’s known for – sharp tailoring, clean lines, colour block; this young designer’s star is on the rise so don’t miss out on a designer bargain – it could be a little piece of fashion history in the making!
Something else that’s creating a buzz around this particular Paris Fashion Week is the news that Emma Ferrer, the 20 year-old granddaughter of much-loved film star and style icon Audrey Hepburn, will be making her catwalk debut at the Lanvin show.
A student at the Florence Academy of Art, Ferrer only began modelling recently – she appeared on the from cover of Harper’s Bazaar US September issue – and right now she’s the name on everyone’s lips.
Naturally, we are very excited about Paris Fashion week here at La Redoute – lots of our favourite French designers are showing their new collections. We’re also excited to see the new trends emerging for Spring-Summer 15.
So far from New York we’ve seen 70s inspired looks, asymmetric cuts, floral prints and gingham. At London Fashion Week we saw sheer fabrics, more florals, metallic fabrics, wide leg trousers and lots of white. In Milan we saw more 70s vibes, exotic florals and sheer fabrics (again). Let’s see what Paris has in store for us…
