Hi, I’m Ali Schofield. I’ll be writing some fashion articles here on the La Redoute blog so I thought it only polite to introduce myself and tell you a bit about me.
Fashion is my oxygen. Well, actually oxygen is my oxygen, but fashion comes a very close second in the importance stakes. I assume this level of dedication to style is why the lovely people at La Redoute have invited me to write on the blog for you.
I’ll be picking out some of my favourite pieces from across the site and styling them here every week. I’d love to hear more about you, how you’ve styled the pieces and, gulp, what you think to the way I wear them, too. I’m really excited.
I’ve shopped at La Redoute for a while – I’ve yet to find anything more therapeutic than sitting down with a cup of tea and turning down the pages in the catalogue to plan my new wardrobe every season – and have been known to miss my stop on the train for daydreaming about possible outfit combinations.
Luckily this near obsession with fashion hasn’t hampered my work life since I’m a freelance lifestyle journalist, interviewing designers and styling shoots for various magazines and newspapers.
Spring is my favourite month as all the new season stock starts coming out, with the sun, fingers crossed, not far to follow! My favourite trend for Spring/Summer 2013 has to be colour-pop; whether it be a neon bright fine knit or simply a pale hue of pink on your gladiator sandals, now is the time to embrace a splash of colour. Because fifty shades of grey is so last year!
