We’re big fans of the humble avocado. Not only does it taste delicious (try it chopped over chilli or mashed on toast – yum), but avocado is also packed with good fats that are essential for healthy skin, hair and nails and a whole load of potassium to make you feel great, too.
Because of its reputation as a skincare superstar, many beauty products now contain avocado to moisturise, add radiance and soothe skin. Now, we love a good face mask as much as the next skincare obsessive, but why shell out on something you can make at home? Here’s our quick and easy homemade face mask recipe – just don’t eat it all first!
Homemade Avocado and Honey Face Mask
A luxurious, natural face mask to smooth, hydrate and brighten your skin.
¼ cup uncooked oats
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
First thing’s first, grab your bathrobe and make this a real home spa experience
Mash the avocado in a small bowl then carefully add the rest of the ingredients, combining until you have a thick paste
Apply to your face, taking care around the eye area
Relax for 20 minutes while the face mask gets to work!
Rinse with warm water and wipe away residue with a flannel
Follow with a rich moisturiser to seal in hydration
