Paris Fashion Week is always a highlight in my work calendar and for the second season running it was an honour to showcase La Redoute.
Their British-French heritage ties seamlessly into my own personal style, making it an easy brand to wear at shows, during meetings and all the other lovely in-betweens during PFW.
September through to early October in Paris is still relatively warm, so I played it safe by sticking to transitional pieces I could style regardless of the weather. From blazers to cosy shift dresses to subdued pale pinks as well as my favourite colour of this a/w season, grey – officially the new black for me, personally.
When it comes to Paris, a city I call home, but also a place that makes me feel nostalgic, I typically opt for retro inspired outfits, a homage to all the Parisian women that have influenced my own wardrobe over the years from Jane Birkin to Catherine Baba or Brigitte Bardot. Staples like patent pointed shoes, a ruffle collared dress or matching nautical blazer and skirt feel very timeless to me, retro in a way but always classic too. So here’s to Paris and dressing in style with this very old, beautiful city: timeless, retro yet all the while, staying true to the French essence we all find irresistibly covetable.
